Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
One of her “specialties” were chocolate chip cookies. We teased her and called them Hockey puck cookies. Puffy, dense chocolate chip cookies which were practically too tough to eat, but were perfect dunked in the glass of cold milk. Specialists for your recipe and after many years of badgering, she explained we were looking at slice and bake Tollhouse from your refrigerated section that they over-baked. 🙂
It is my version of her cookie- I started while using the Original Tollhouse Cookie Recipe. Rather than the light brown sugar, I used dark, added 1/4c more flour, and 1t baking powder. Be sure to really give it time to mix awhile permit the gluten develop. I replaced a few of the chips with Hershey’s Sea Salt Caramel ones. I used a substantial cookie scoop, and baked 6 per sheet for 12- 14 minutes with the perfect to dunk cookie. Don’t forget the milk!
One of several highlights of christmas is my friend’s cookie exchange. Everyone brings six dozen cookies, covered with packages of three, and you will find there’s huge swap. You return home with 24 different kinds of cookies to enjoy. C and Miss F love pawing through the basket of cookies selecting their favorites. In 2010 was the greatest exchange yet and individuals really outdid themselves. Clearly there was an abundance of Prosecco to sip and many delicious snacks. My Uber driver was entertained by me carrying a gift basket rich in cookies, I’ll have shared a bag with him within the trip home. This recipe is adapted from All Recipes. Kroger stocks Salted Caramel Chips, that’s what I used through these cookies. The main recipe calls for chopping up caramel candies, although the chips help it become much easier.
